Would you believe that 33 of 61 (54.09%) HDTV's tested failed to the "Interlace"
test and 49 of 61 (80.33%) failed the 3:2 film
Cadence test.
What does this jargon mean to the average consumer? Simply, many people are not getting the full benefit of their
HDTV's performance. In a recent article in Home Theater Magazine, Gary Merson tested 61 units to see if the manufacturers were
doing a better job of making their displays work as expected. Earlier this year he performed these test on many TV's
and found that most failed, so he was interested in seeing if there was improvment.
Interesting thing is that the Pioneer,
Hitachi and JVC models tested passed both of these test. These are also the majority of the brands that Poston Electronics offers.
Hummm! This should be another reason that you may want to visit Poston's before you buy your next display.
